Steve Smith

As Co-Chairs of the Surrey Secondary Phase Council, Dan Aldridge, Headteacher at Bishop Wand School, and I are proud to represent and support secondary school leaders across Surrey.  As Headteacher of Guildford County School, I know how valuable it is to have a network of colleagues with whom to share ideas, tackle challenges and work together for the benefit of our schools and our students.

The Council provides a space for collaboration, advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of Surrey’s secondary schools are heard and that we continue to drive positive change in education.

I am incredibly proud to serve as one of the two Co-Chairs and if there is ever anything that I or the Council can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Daniel Aldridge

It is a privilege to introduce myself as Co-Chair of the Surrey Secondary Phase Council Working alongside Steve Smith and alongside our 57 secondary school leaders.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to collaboration, partnership, and advocacy. We take pride in working closely with Surrey County Council and SAFE to ensure that every young person in our county receives the best possible education, support, and opportunities.  

We build a strong, united community of school leaders who share best practices, navigate challenges together, and champion the needs of Surrey’s children. By fostering a culture of shared learning and mutual support, we ensure that every decision we make keeps the interests of our students at the forefront of all we do.  

I look forward to working with you all as we continue to strengthen our schools, empower our leaders, and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people across Surrey.
