Surrey Secondary Phase Council facilitates six sets of Quadrant Meetings per year, one for each quadrant every half term, providing secondary school leaders with a structured forum for collaboration, discussion, and professional development. These meetings bring together headteachers and senior leaders within their geographical quadrants, ensuring that local issues and priorities are addressed effectively.

Purpose & Benefits

Networking & Peer Support – Connect with colleagues from nearby schools to share insights, challenges, and solutions.

Information Sharing – Stay updated on key educational developments, policy changes, and initiatives affecting Surrey schools.

Access to SCC Representatives – Engage directly with representatives from Surrey County Council (SCC), ensuring that your views and concerns are heard.

Strategic Input – Help shape the agenda for wider Phase Council Meetings and contribute to policy discussions that impact all Surrey secondary schools.

Meeting Structure & Format

Each quadrant meeting follows a structured agenda to maximise impact and ensure productive discussions. A typical meeting includes:

  • Sector Updates – Briefings on key local and national educational developments.
  • Guest Presentations – Expert-led discussions on topics such as safeguarding, SEND provision, and data analysis.
  • Roundtable Discussions – Opportunities to share experiences and best practices with fellow school leaders.
  • Action Planning – Reviewing previous actions, setting priorities, and ensuring follow-up on key decisions.

When & Where?

Frequency: Six sets of meetings per year, scheduled every half term.
Venues: Rotating locations within each quadrant to ensure accessibility.
Format: In-person, with virtual options where necessary.
