Who are we?
Welcome to the Surrey Secondary Phase Council
Advocacy through Partnership
Surrey Secondary Phase Council is a collaborative network of secondary school leaders, dedicated to strengthening education across Surrey. As an independent, non-profit organisation representing 57 state secondary schools, we work together to share knowledge, advocate for our schools, and provide essential support to our members. Our mission is to ensure that Surrey’s secondary schools have a strong, unified voice and access to the information and resources they need.
At the heart of our work are our meetings and conferences, which provide vital opportunities for school leaders to connect, discuss challenges, and share best practices. We hold six quadrant meetings per year, offering a space for networking, information sharing, and presentations from key education stakeholders, including Surrey County Council. Additionally, our six Phase Council meetings bring together representatives from each of our quadrants, Surrey County Council, Schools Forum, and SAfE, ensuring that Surrey’s secondary schools are represented at the highest levels of decision-making.
We also host two major conferences each year, our Summer and Autumn Residential Conferences, as well as fully funding tickets for our members to attend the SAfE Leadership Conference in March. These events allow school leaders to engage with sector experts, gain insights into key educational developments, and collaborate on initiatives that shape the future of secondary education in Surrey.
Beyond meetings and conferences, we provide a range of resources and support for our members.
Recognising the demands of school leadership, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our members. Our Support and Wellbeing package includes access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) through Education Support, and a Buddy System for peer-to-peer connection. We plan to roll out new wellbeing initiatives over the next year.
Surrey Secondary Phase Council is also proud to work closely with Early Years, Primary, Specialist, and Post-16 Phases as part of the Surrey Joint Phase Council, ensuring a unified approach across all phases of education. By working together, we can amplify the voices of education leaders and create a stronger, more supportive education system for Surrey’s children and young people.
